The Barcádias site has a privileged location 5 km from the center of Montemor-o-Novo. The land, with a slight slope to the Northeast, has a beautiful view of the city's houses and castle. To the South and Southwest, the limits of the horizon are defined by farms, olive groves and cork oak forests typical of the Alentejo landscape.
It is in this landscape setting, in accordance with the principles of containment of the area, that approval was granted to build 4 accommodation units in Nordic pine wood, thus favoring the use of environmentally sustainable materials and systems, safeguarding the natural, environmental and scenic values of the site.
Appropriate architectural solutions that enhance regional identity were considered. The buildings will be built in a sustainable and autonomous way, thus guaranteeing a minimum environmental impact, the integration of the houses into the original topography of the land, and no tree felling or significant land modeling is planned.
Spread across the olive grove, the 4 independent and carefully implemented accommodation units take into account solar orientation, the view system over the plain and the city of Montemor, as well as accessibility for everyone.
Each accommodation unit consists of a living room with pantry/kitchen, bathroom suitable for people with reduced mobility, 2 bedrooms and at the front a small shed to enjoy the landscape and the olive trees that surround the houses.
The land already has sanitation infrastructure (ecological and biological septic tank) and an artesian well for water collection.
The olive trees are productive and the olives are the best, 100% Galician.
There is also the potential to create a new area with a small vegetable garden and orchard area.
This land has an excellent location, being 9 minutes from Montemor-o-Novo, 35 minutes from Évora and 1h6 minutes from Lisbon.
Nearby you can find 5 MTB routes located in the Cabrela and Monfurado sites and the Montemor-o-Novo Ecopista, on the old Torre da Gadanha railway branch.
For those who enjoy fishing or activities such as standup paddleboarding or canoeing, there are 2 dams nearby, the Pego do Altar Dam in Santa Susana and the Vale do Gaio Dam.

The project plans to provide 3 T2 accommodation units with an exclusive indoor and outdoor area that respect regulatory measures and a T1 unit, a space for common use.
The project is not limited to these four units nor to the measures that are in the project. According to the ordinances in which it is included, accommodation units can reach up to 145m2 (total area of implementation) and more accommodation units can be placed with a maximum limit of 30 people daily.
All accommodation units must be limited to 5,000 m2 (half of the land). The remaining land can be subdivided or used for sports infrastructure.
