The origins of this monastery, in Valencia, point to the 7th century. In 1018 precisely a thousand years ago it was rebuilt under the patronage of a French knight of his name Ganfried or Ganfei. It ended up giving name to the monastery and the parish where the building is situated. This knight would later become a saint.
Already in the eighteenth century were built the new façade and chancel, keeping the rest of the Romanesque moth. In 1760, the remains of St. Ganfei were transferred to this Church.
